Another significant change to Technorati is to its Top 100 Blogs. "Until today, the top 100 blogs were determined based on unique links from other blogs during the previous six months," explains well-known blogger Michael Arrington. "The top list was fairly static. It is easier for users to integrate facebook on their website and widgets.
"Many websites are looking for ways to integrate Facebook Connect, such as commenting using Facebook identity or showing visitors their Facebook friends' recent activity," says Facebook software engineer Vishu Gupta. "Companies like DISQUS offer widgets to such websites, providing off-the-shelf Facebook integration with just a few clicks."

Amy Willis wrote, “Twitter users may soon be posting real-time video tweets in addition to text tweets under plans to modernise the site. Digg has launched new ad called “Digg content ads”.
“Digg Content Ads are basically widgets that contain previous Digg homepage stories that are relevant to the industry or company that is advertising on Digg. For example, Symantec is testing the model with banners that pull in popular security-technology stories from the Digg archive”.

U.S. visits to social networking sites have increased 62 percent year over year;
visits from 55 and older age group have increased 77 percent
Tagged received 2.38 percent of visits in September 2009, the third-largest amount. Twitter had the largest percentage gain in market share of visits among the top five visited Web sites, increasing 1170 percent compared with September 2008. U.S. visits to social networking Web sites increased 62 percent in September 2009 versus September 2008 among the custom category of 155 of the leading social networking sites.

Scribd Launches Branded Document Read...

Scribd has launched a free version of document reader for select media companies and blogs.
The new Scribd reader includes a Scribd watermark and allows media companies to embed source materials such as court filings and memos in articles. Scribd says its reader will increase people's time on a site and extend brands across the Internet. More than five million Scribd readers have been embedded online.

This is based on the similar technology that is used by Google Docs and Gmail. Google says they've actually been rolling out the feature in search results since July, and now they have more than half of the PDFs in their index available this way.

Now user can upload directly to picasa web albums from within Google sites. It is also easier for your friends and family to follow updates from Google sites.
"Feeds are also available for site comments (add "comments.xml") and site activity (add "activity.xml")," says Google Sites Senior Product Manager Scott Johnson. "Announcement and comment feeds follow the permission of the site and require authentication for private sites.
