Google this evening has launched what it calls “priority inbox” for Gmail. It uses a variety of algorithmic and machine learning techniques to automatically capture and organize “important” emails and de-emphasize other email. Paul Allen Sues Google, Yahoo, Facebo...

Paul Allen, the Microsoft co-founder and one of the richest men on earth, has filed a patent infringement suit today against several Internet titans, the Wall Street Journal reports. The lawsuit centers on technology developed a decade ago by Interval Research Corp., a technology lab that Allen owned between 1992 and 2000. Eleven companies are named in the lawsuit: Google, Yahoo, Facebook, AOL, eBay, YouTube, NetFlix, Office Depot, OfficeMax, and Staples. Official: Yahoo’s Results Now Come ...

Yahoo just announced the transition from Yahoo Search powered results to Bing powered organic Yahoo search results is now complete. U.S. advertisers will spend $1.68 billion on social networking sites such as Facebook, MySpace and Twitter in 2010, according to a new report from eMarketer. The $1.68 billion figure represents a 20 percent increase over 2009 on social network advertising spending and is set to climb to more than  $2 billion in 2011.
